"Everyone knows Daisy Jones & The Six: The band's album Aurora came to define the rock 'n' roll era of the late seventies, and an entire generation of girls wanted to grow up to be Daisy. But no one knows the reason behind the group's split on the night of their final concert at Chicago Stadium on July 12, 1979 . . . until now." More on Goodreads
Review: This book is so engaging that I was listening to it every moment I could get. I was so invested in what was going on, it truly felt as if I was listening to a wild documentary about the crazy life of a rock band in the '70s. (+1)
The world that the band lived in was insanity. Despite being told from multiple perspectives, I was able to visualize what was happening. (+1)
The writing style was incredibly unique. You read (and listen) to the book as if it were a transcript of a documentary. Usually, I would find the rapidly switching perspectives to be confusing, but in this case, it works beautifully. (+1)
This book is organized chaos, in the best way possible. (+1)
The characters are absolutely amazing and drive the story. We are able to get to know them and see them develop nicely throughout the book. Also, I adored the love/ hate relationship I had with Daisy. One moment I wanted to be her best friend and the next I wanted to tell her to stop acting like a child. It was a perfect dynamic that kept me engaged the whole time. (+1)
My favorite part was the characters. They are interwoven perfectly with some groups hanging out more than others, but they were still always together. I also loved listening to the audiobook because each character had his/her own narrator! I've never experienced that before, making this my favorite audiobook to date.
I didn't have a least favorite part.
If you love documentaries, music, drama, or looking for a cool audiobook then definitely check out Daisy Jones & The Six!
